Mat Watson of CarWow wanted to see if the Lamborghini Urus SE Hybrid is truly faster than the Performante and the base model (Urus S). So, he pit them against each other in the ultimate super SUV showdown.
We’ll start with the Lamborghini Urus SE (Plug-in Hybrid) first, the most powerful of the trio. Power comes from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8, paired with an electric motor, that generates a combined 800 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque. Next, the Performante draws power from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 generating 666 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Last, but not least, we have the Lamborghini Urus S (Base Model), which has the same engine as the Performante.

On paper, the Urus SE’s 800 hp should make it the clear winner, but its 2,500 kg weight (over 300 kg heavier than the Performante) was a handicap. The Performante, being the lightest and with a reputation for sharp launches, was expected to be competitive despite its 134 hp deficit. The Urus S, with identical power to the Performante but slightly more weight, was the underdog.
