Think of the Asean Lady superyacht as a multi-level luxury apartment that has been plopped down on a boat chassis. It was built by Pride Mega Yachts and built to sail around the world, thanks to its ability to survive a tsunami, like the one that hit Phuket, Thailand in 2004.
Steven Spielberg has just sold his “Seven Seas” superyacht for $151-million USD and it looks to be worth every penny, or at least compared to its competitors. It was originally built by Dutch shipyard Oceanco back in 2010, and measures 282-feet, which is large enough to accommodate up to 20 guests in nine staterooms as well as 28 crew members.
Superyachts are nothing new, but Lazzarini Design Studio’s Embryon concept is the first hyper boat we’ve come across. Measuring 79-feet long, this luxurious vessel is powered by hydrogen hybrid powerplant capable of cruising at speeds in excess of 60 knots.
France-based VPLP Design’s SEAFFINITY hybrid trimaran superyacht may be the first to draw inspiration from seagulls. Featuring an aluminum chassis that boasts a 6.8m beam and a 2m draught, complete with two Oceanwings, and with a hybrid engine, powered by electricity produced by a fuel cell as well as hydrogen.
Lazzarini Design is known for their luxurious water vessels, including the Jet Capsule, and “The Shape” is the latest addition to their portfolio. This 226-foot superyacht has a gaping hole right in the center that does not really serve a purpose, other than be aesthetically pleasing.
