NASA SLS Rocket Core

NASA’s SLS rocket was built to safely transport American astronauts and maximum payloads to the Moon as well as deep space destinations. Yesterday, the agency rolled out the completed core stage from NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility for a trip to the Stennis Space Center to undergo further testing. The 1.3-mile trip from the Michoud factory to the barge’s dock is just the beginning of the SLS flight hardware’s journey, as Pegasus will then ferry the SLS core stage from Michoud to Stennis, where it will be lifted and placed into the historic B-2 Test Stand for the core stage Green Run test campaign set to start later this year.

Elon Musk held a press event yesterday at SpaceX’s South Texas test site to provide an update on Starship. The CEO stood beneath a towering Starship Mk1 prototype currently being used to develop a massive reusable launch system. This new version, along with its Super Heavy booster, is capable of transporting up to 100 people to the moon, Mars, and beyond. The rocket stands 387-feet-tall and is completely reusable, with quick turnaround times.

LUNARK Moon Habitat
Moon habitat designs have evolved over the years as mankind’s knowledge about the lunar surface has grown, and as the technology progressed. They range from spacecraft landers, used rocket fuel tanks, inflatable structures, but most were not able to withstand the hazards of the lunar environment, like extreme temperature shifts, little to no atmosphere or magnetic field and long nights. The LUNARK Moon Habitat aims to change that.
