Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, the stealthy Ramsmobile RM-X2 takes SUVs to a whole new level. It’s officially claimed to be a “multipurpose hypercar”. Why? The manufacturer says it can withstand bullets, float, and tackle the toughest as well as the most hazardous terrains anywhere in the world, or where people are “not meant to be.”
You’ll be able to choose from four different trim levels: the standard Ascetic; the Devil’s Trim that combines “luxury and darkness” and “technology and mysticism”; God Creation; and the top-of-the-line Ramsider. The RM-X2 that you see above is powered by a 999-horsepower engine, complete with suicide doors that pop outward from the frame and rotate back to reveal a 4 or 6-seat interior.
As for the engine options, there’s a supercharged ZR1-sourced 6.2-liter LT5 generating 755 horsepower, a GM-sourced 6.6-liter Duramax diesel producing up to 550 horsepower, and then the hybrid configuration of EV motor / batteries making 999 horsepower.
The vehicle itself weighs in at 3,300-pounds, which is extremely light compared to other SUVs, due to its extensive use of carbon and titanium. The maximum spec is a bit more hefty at 5,900-pounds, but still reasonable. If equipped with 24 inches wheels and the hydro-pneumatic, laser-guided suspension, you’ll be ready to go off-road straight from the factory.
How much will one of these cost? How about $999,999 USD for just the “Ascetic” base model. One caveat: even if you have the money, Ramsmobile will only be accepting 12 orders for 2020.
