First Look at The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 Experience by Epic Games on the Xbox Series X in 4K

The Matrix Awakens is an Unreal Engine 5 experience that has just launched on the Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5. After you start, the experience begins in open world fashion, with three individual and distinct sections for players to explore.

The first section consists of a character showcase where you’ll find Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) as they are in the upcoming Matrix: Resurrections film, but also in their previous forms. When you combine a library of assets as well as real-time rendered characters, you get something that blurs the line between reality and game. Once you’re done with that, a fully playable action sequence begins, which introduces the player character – IO – generated from the standard MetaHuman toolbox. Last, but not least, the final section has players controlling IO within the open world itself, enabling one to explore the city.
