Is the 2025 BMW M4 CS faster than the previous generation M4 CS and some older M3s? That is a question that Mat Watson of CarWow wanted to answer, so he took all four vehicles to an air field runway for a drag racing showdown.
First up, the 2025 BMW M4 CS is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L S58 inline-six generating 543 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. Next, the F82 M4 CS draws power from a twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six producing 460hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 7-speed M DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission). We can’t forget about the E92 M3 equipped with a naturally-aspirated 4.0L V8 making 420hp and 295 lb-ft of torque either. Last, but not least, the E46 M3 sports a naturally-aspirated 3.2L V6 engine clocking in at 343 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.
