Twenty-five years after the original H2 rolled out in that unmistakable shade of yellow, GMC has pulled the same color back into the spotlight. The 2027 Hummer EV Icon 25 arrives as a tightly limited run of 250 trucks and SUVs, each wearing the new ICON Yellow paint and a serialized plaque that confirms its place in the short list. Production starts later this year at Factory Zero in Detroit, with the first examples expected in showrooms early in 2027 for buyers in the United States and Canada.
ICON Yellow rests on the Hummer like a brand-new paint job from another era, shouting high visibility. The black cladding, mirrors, roof, recovery points, and front apron all contribute to a strong visual contrast. You have new 22-inch Deep Void wheels that fill out the arches and include the Hummer EV emblem on the center caps. The SUV variant has a matching yellow inlay on the spare tire. The general shape remains massive, with the wide, gangly aspect that made gas-guzzling Hummers easy to spot on city streets or desert roads.

Inside, the cabin goes completely black for the first time, with Jet Black seats, dash, and door panels. On the passenger side instrument panel, a small numbered emblem indicates the vehicle’s position in the small 250 run. The drive-mode graphics on the central screen are reminiscent of the original Hummer look, rather than a complete overhaul, and each truck comes with a souvenir to mark the anniversary, albeit GMC has yet to make an appearance.
The power is the same as the rest of the 2027 Hummer EV series. The 3X truck with the larger battery pack remains at the top of the range, producing 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. And yet reach 60 mph in 2.8 seconds if all the stars align. When the Extreme Off-Road Package is added, the dual-motor 2X version’s power output drops somewhat to around 635 horsepower. Both still have the entertaining stuff. Crab Walk and King Crab, Extract Mode that lifts the body by 6 inches, and air suspension that lifts you up or down for the road.
Charging has undergone a few changes in 2027. Every Hummer EV now includes a NACS connector, allowing you to connect directly to a Tesla charger without the need for adapters. Bidirectional charging, which allows you to feed electricity back into your home in an emergency, is still available to individuals who have purchased the GM Energy kit. Assuming the battery has enough juice in the first place and your home is equipped to handle it.
Outside, new colors for 2027 include Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, Dark Ridge, and Deep Void Matt. The Icon 25 package is, of course, still limited to the truck and SUV’s 2X and 3X trim levels. What’s the price? Still not announced yet, last year’s models were just under $98,000 before delivery, and don’t be shocked if the rare yellow versions set you back a bit more when they arrive.
