Lancia has a rich rally heritage, with 10 World Rally Championship titles etched into the sport’s history. Now, the Italian brand is rekindling that legacy with the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, a car that combines raw performance with a nod to the past.
This car carries the weight of Lancia’s golden era, when the Stratos, 037 and Delta dominated the rally stages from 1974 to 1992. A trophy list on the B-pillar is a reminder of that dominance, a wink to a brand that hasn’t had a full factory team in the WRC since 1992. But the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale isn’t just a nostalgic tribute – it’s a modern contender, designed to meet the Rally2 regulations and deliver the kind of performance to tear up the asphalt at next year’s Monte Carlo Rally.

Its widebody kit turns the standard Ypsilon into something much more aggressive, with deep bumpers, flared fenders and a massive rear wing. A vented hood with quick release latches, racing mirrors, a roof scoop and white alloy wheels with slick tyres complete the look. The livery – white, black and red with the red elephant – ties it to Lancia’s rally heritage, echoing the Ypsilon HF Racing and Rally4 HF but cranked up a notch.
Under the bonnet is a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, a setup that meets the Rally2 regulations and delivers around 282 horsepower, based on comparisons to its Stellantis cousin the Citroën C3 Rally2. Mated to a five-speed sequential gearbox and all-wheel-drive with mechanical differentials, the Ypsilon is built to grip and go, on tarmac or gravel. At 1,230 kg (2,712 lbs) it’s light and agile, ready to tackle the WRC2 stages. Lancia hasn’t released full specs but the car likely shares components with the Citroën C3 Rally2 which got technical updates in 2024 so it should be a refined and competitive package.
The Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale has been in development for months, we’ve seen it testing in France where it was seen returning to its tent after asphalt runs. For now the Ypsilon is due to debut in 2026, potentially as early as the Monte Carlo Rally in January where it will face the likes of the Skoda Fabia RS, Hyundai i20N, Toyota GR Yaris and Ford Fiesta Rally2.
A customer-spec Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale will likely cost between $230,000 and $350,000, a big jump from the $45,500 Ypsilon HF Racing or the $87,100 Rally4 HF. That’s the price of advanced engineering and a race-ready car, for private teams and drivers who want to compete at the top of WRC2.
