Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Concept
Red still runs through every line of this new Alfa Romeo concept. Unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the Cuorerosso stands as a clear statement of direction rather than a direct preview of one production car. Its name joins the Italian words for heart and red, and the car itself follows that idea without apology.

This car is 4700 mm long, 1980 mm wide, and just 1331 mm tall, placing it in between a grand tourer and something more edgy. The wheelbase is 2930 mm long, and the claimed weight is a relatively lightweight 1750 kg. They’ve also managed to get a drag coefficient of 0.28 out of it, thanks in part to a strange tail-end design known as the Coda Tronca and a diffuser integrated into the bodywork. The lines of this car are quite sleek, and the famous Scudetto grille swoops up elegantly from the bonnet, while the headlights appear to be peering straight through you. Then there are the doors, which are rear-hinged and open up the cabin without a pesky B-pillar getting in the way, while the glass appears nearly flush, and the six-spoke forged wheels, rebuilt from the previous phone design (yes, really!), seem to blend into the background when you look at the car as a whole.

The powertrain is a hybrid, with the classic 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, which is essentially the same as in the Quadrifoglio versions, paired with a full-hybrid setup, Q4 all-wheel drive, and a torque-converter automatic transmission. That’s not to mention the carbon-fibre driveshaft, though the actual output statistics aren’t available just yet. The upgrade includes air suspension, carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes (with Alfa-specific calipers, of course), and some nifty steer-by-wire. They also have three driving modes, Cruise, Sport, and Quadrifoglio, which are designed to drastically transform the way you interact with the automobile.

If you step inside, you’ll notice that the same ‘less is more’ mentality has been stretched to its limit. The vehicle includes four distinct seats, which appear to be squeezed into an encircling space that is nonetheless practically unique. The dashboard is straight out of the 33 Stradale, as it’s thin, horizontal, and just a lovely piece of design, and those two instruments, the Cannocchiale Vivente, are the perfect example of it, as you can merge them into one display when you really need to focus, or just have them hang out as two separate bits of kit.

What about the Magma Display on the center console? That’s essentially a touch-screen display with proper rotary and toggle controls, so you only see the information you need when you need it. Keep in mind that the only portions of the interior you’ll be able to touch are those covered with Soft Poltrona Frau nubuck. Everything else, from the leather to the monofilament fabric, is a more ‘technical’ material.

So, what is the guiding idea behind all of this? Alfa Romeo refers to it as ‘Bellezza Necessaria,’ or ‘essential beauty’. The designers took an existing shape and removed everything that didn’t make it appear nice, function well, or feel correct. What about the Liquid Ink Red paint job? It’s a genuine show-stopper, especially since it’s made of an aluminum base and a transparent layer that varies with the light, giving it a rich, almost brilliant appearance. Not to mention that the same color energy is echoed within the cabin, becoming stronger as you approach the driver.

Future models will take the same ideas to the next level, with lengths of up to 4.7 meters and a variety of powertrains ranging from plug-in hybrids to complete electrics. The Quadrifoglio versions will also continue to exist. One thing is certain: this small car known as the Cuorerosso will not be available in showrooms anytime soon. Nonetheless, every surface and system demonstrates that the link between driver and machine is more crucial than ever, and that even a petrol V6 can be converted to run with electric assistance without losing its Alfa Romeo magic.
