BMW teased an all-electric M2 prototype, based on their first-generation model, in a new video. It’s codenamed ‘The Beast’ and concocted by a small team of engineers who were on a mission to explore what’s possible.
No technical information was provided, other than the factory twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six has been replaced with an electric powertrain. As for just how many electric motors, some are speculating that there will be four, since all other electric M vehicles boast a quad motor setup. Whatever the case may be, BMW will soon be giving both the Tesla Model 3 Performance and Model S Plaid a run for their money when the electric M2 as well as M3 models hit showrooms.
