The D-Fly Dragonfly is touted as the “world’s first hyperscooter,” and what makes it so? First off, the design is supposed to evoke the look as well as feel of a supercar or luxury sedan, starting with its carbon fiber, aerospace-grade aluminum and carbon-fiber-reinforced paulownia wood chassis. Power comes from dual front motors that produce 1,800 watts to each wheel, enabling it to hit a top speed of 38 mph with a range of 11-28 miles, depending on the battery pack.
The Dragonly features an innovative single handle control bar, complete with a rotary-controlled throttle, paired to a double-wishbone suspension system that enables you to lean into corners. Right beneath the control bar is a 4.5-inch 4K resolution display that connects to the Dragonfly’s Bluetooth sound system and works with the mobile app. It will be offered in three- and four-wheeled models, with pricing starting at $4,999 USD when it hits stores in mid-2020.
At D-Fly Group, we knew it would take something radically different to really push the needle on mobility. The Dragonfly Hyperscooter is the urban-mobility equivalent to the supercar, and we’re very proud of that. The future’s arrived in style,” said company founder Jez Williman.
