A family’s love of the universe, sparked by a 4 year old’s wonder, has created a vehicle like no other. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Cosmos, a one off commission from the brand’s Private Office in Dubai, turns the already luxurious Cullinan SUV into a rolling tribute to the cosmos. Every detail, from the exterior to the interior, tells a story of artistry and ambition.
When you get in, the cabin feels like a portal to deep space. The centrepiece is Rolls-Royce’s first Starlight Headliner. Unlike previous models’ fibre optic constellations, this headliner was hand painted by a single in-house artist over 160 hours. Acrylic paint was poured over 20 times to create the clouds that look like the Milky Way. A cosmetics brush was used to create the mist effect, fine brushes and speckling to create the stars. After the painting was complete, hand punched fiber optic lights were added to the ceiling to give depth to the design. It’s a view that turns every drive into a calm, mystical stargazing experience.

The celestial theme runs throughout the design with delicate beauty. The Charles Blue and Grace White leather seats, with matching stitching and piping, are like the night sky. The commissioning family worked together to create a bespoke Star Cluster motif that appears as embroidery on the door panels and headrests and hand painted artwork on the passenger side dashboard. Piano White veneers, shiny like satellite casings, give the cabin a technical feel while keeping it warm. The illuminated door sills, with “Cullinan Cosmos One of One” engraved, remind the occupants of the car’s rarity.

Outside, the Cullinan Cosmos is quieter but no less impressive. The Arabescato Pearl paint shimmers like moonlight, a fitting tribute to the night sky. A hand painted double coachline in Charles Blue follows the car’s curves, a classic Rolls-Royce touch. The Spirit of Ecstasy, the iconic bonnet ornament, shines at night like a distant star.

This is powered by the Cullinan Series II’s twin-turbo 6.75 litre V12 engine that produces 563bhp and 627lb ft of torque. An eight speed automatic and all-wheel drive makes it effortless to move the big SUV. The engine is felt more than heard, its whisper quiet operation keeping the cabin calm. While the V12 is impressive, it’s secondary to the art above, proving the Cosmos is all about experience not performance.

The Cullinan Cosmos was created for a special family occasion and has personal meaning. The clients, a family who love the universe, wanted a car that would make an impact. The Bespoke Collective delivered, pushing the boundaries in ways never seen before in a Rolls-Royce. The hand painted headliner alone is a design innovation, combining traditional craftsmanship with a cosmic vision. This SUV was delivered through the Private Office in Dubai and is a one off that will never be replicated.

Pricing is unknown as is the case with such bespoke creations. A normal Cullinan Series II starts at around $400,000 and the Black Badge at around $470,000. The Cosmos with all the personalization will cost a lot more, probably over $700,000 compared to other one off commissions. But for the family who commissioned it, the value is not in the dollars, but in the shared dream it represents – a car that captures the magic of the stars for a lifetime of travels.
