We know the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is a $105,300 USD sports car that is fast as some supercars, but what about the 2023 McLaren 765LT, which retails for over 3-times more? The former is powered by an LT5 5.5L V8 engine making 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, while the latter has a turbocharged 4.0L V8 generating 755 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
On paper, this sounds like a fairly even match, or at least in a straight line. However, both vehicles only look even off the line, as near the midway marker, the Corvette Z06 just doesn’t hold a candle to the McLaren 765LT’s acceleration throughout its powerband. We don’t want to ruin all of the races for you, but it’s safe to say that the Z06 is a great supercar-level sports car that won’t cost you half a million optioned out.
