It’s safe to say that the Porsche 911 Turbo S and McLaren 765LT can hold their own at the track, but what if you pit them against each other at the drag strip? Tim, also known as Shmee150, wanted to find out. So, he teamed up with The Triple F Collection to make this drag racing showdown a reality.
Weighing 3,640-pounds, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8L flat-six engine making 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, enabling it to hit 60 mph in just 2.6-seconds. The 3,060-pound McLaren 765LT draws power from a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 making 755 hp and 590 lb-ft torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that helps it hit 60 mph in 2.7-seconds. There is a significant weight difference between the two, but the results of the three drag races may surprise you.
