The 2023 Toyota GR Supra has arrived, and it not only boasts a 3.0-litre 382 horsepower engine, but also a 6-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). This manual transmission will be offered as an option on the Supra 3.0 / 3.0 Premium and a limited A91-MT Edition model, with the latter being produced for model year 2023 only.
What is an intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT)? Well, it basically comes loaded with new software that prioritizes sporty performance. When upshifting, it optimizes the parameters for engine torque at the moment of clutch engagement and release, while on downshifts, everything is fine-tuned for consistent performance. What sets the limited A91-MT apart from the other models? It’s limited to just 500 units worldwide and boasts exclusive Cognac leather-trimmed seats, a GR-themed Alcantara shift knob as well as a 12-speaker acoustically tuned premium JBL sound system on the inside. Step outside, and you’ll find a red “Supra” Badge, red GR Supra emblazoned calipers, forged 19-inch Frozen Gunmetal Gray wheels, and two exclusive colors – Matte White and CU Later Gray. The 2023 Toyota GR Supra will hit dealers later this year, with pricing to be announced in the coming months.
