At the recent Sydney Session AU show, Autotique, an Australian tuner, unveiled two body kits for the first-gen Acura NSX. The NSX is a collector’s car and customizer’s dream, with its sleek lines and Ayrton Senna’s seal of approval. Autotique’s Widebody and OEM Plus kits cater to different tastes – one a full-on transformation, the other a subtle refresh – both breathing new life into a car that still turns heads decades later.
Autotique’s Widebody kit turns the NSX into a wider, more aggressive machine. Conceived by Norwegian designer Piston Zero, the project was developed by Thai builder Mozy before Autotique refined it for production. Almost every exterior panel gets a new skin, leaving only the pop-up headlights, doors, hood and glass untouched. The front bumper has larger cooling intakes, slim LED running lights and a bold splitter that screams supercar. Wider fenders and redesigned side skirts give the car a stance, paired with aftermarket wheels and ultra-low profile tyres, it looks crouched and ready to pounce.

At the back, the Widebody swaps the NSX’s iconic full-width taillights for modern LED units with a tinted finish. A reshaped bumper integrates a massive diffuser, flanked by dual exhaust tips, while a fixed rear wing – colour matched to the body – adds the final flourish. Although the prototype is mostly true to Piston Zero’s original design, some details like the vented hood and canards didn’t make the cut. Built on the 1990-2001 NSX platform, this kit doesn’t fit the facelifted 2001-2006 models, so it preserves the earlier design’s purity.
For those who want a more subtle evolution, the OEM Plus kit is the way to go. A reworked front bumper with new intakes sets the tone, paired with a slightly raised hood and extended side skirts. The rear bumper gets an extension that modernises the look without overpowering the NSX’s original charm. This kit feels like a nod to the car’s heritage, refreshing the style without being too loud. Both kits leave the NSX’s 3.0-litre V6, with 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, alone.Pre-orders will open soon but pricing is yet to be announced. With the NSX’s value going up (some are selling for over $1 million) owners may not want to modify their classics.
