Poland-based Carlex Design specializes in manufacturing automotive / aviation / marine interiors, equipment, and even body kits for cars. Their latest project vehicle is based on the Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck, and it’s definitely no slouch. It showcases their state-of-the-art materials and craftsmanship to the highest degree.
Built by the company’s Pickup Design division, this particular vehicle is officially called the “Powerful Adventurer,” and rightfully so. Just about every feature was carefully picked to give it an overland-inspired look, including roof-mounted LED bars, a roof rack, lifted suspension and even flared wheel arches for added style.
Off-road wheels and beefy tires ensure that you won’t get stuck in some remote area. To finish off the exterior look, the team wrapped the pickup truck in matte green, enabling it to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings. Carlex did not mention any engine mods, but even the factory X350d’s OM642 turbo-diesel V-6 should provide plenty of oomph with 255 horsepower and an impressive 406 lb-ft of torque.
There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but if we were to guess, this is a one-off build to showcase some of Carlex’s offerings. However, the Mercedes-Benz X 350 d 4MATIC does have an MSRP of around $90K, so that would be a great starting point.
