Apple AirPods aren’t designed to stand out, that is unless, you’re talking about Ian DeLucca’s diamond-encrusted version. This Los Angeles-based designer has created 25 pairs of his “Object No. 1 AirPods” that are cast in white gold, and then encrusted with 1,0000 individual VVS natural, mined diamonds. Each pair comes with its very own individual serial number and creation date inscribed, complete with a custom marble charging stand. Read more for additional pictures and information.
These shiny new AirPods are a part of his “NEW MATERIALISM” series that seamlessly blends art and modern technology into one. Unfortunately, these earphones probably aren’t meant for the gym, nor do they come with a special protective casing that would allow you to sweat it out without worrying about damaging the jewels.
“’NEW MATERIALISM’ guides us into new relationships with the material world,” said Delucca.
