The driver and passengers were captured dozing off in an Li Auto L9 as it was driving on a highway. We’re assuming its autonomous self-driving system was activated, but typically, these require one to keep a hand and / or eye on the steering wheel at all times.
If you look closer, it appears as if there’s a bottle wedged into the steering wheel, possibly tricking the autonomous system into thinking the driver is alert or at least awake. The Li Auto L9 does have a Driver Monitoring System, so it should be able to detect whether or not someone is asleep at the wheel. It could be that this is all just an elaborate prank, with the driver well awake, but just in a sleeping position.
