Delta expects to launch its new Delta One suites early in 2027, when the Airbus A350-1000 joins the fleet. When you choose one of these seats, you get to experience the reverse herringbone arrangement, which basically means that the seats along the sides are right up against the windows while the ones in the middle are separated by a sliding panel that you can open up to share with someone or keep closed for some alone time.
Each suite has a door that swings shut, keeping you all snug. From there, the flat bed extends to more than six and a half feet, which is significant given that the designers increased the length by more than three inches. The mattress is composed of memory foam, which is fantastic for those long flights, and you get Missoni sheets on top of that. Overall, it’s designed to give you a really good night’s sleep up in the air.

All you have to do to adjust the seat is reach out and touch the control panel, which is designed to be quite intuitive, even with your eyes closed, similar to the controls on a luxury car. They also have a shoe cubby, a tray within arm’s reach so you can simply lay your phone on it, and a hanger for your glasses right next to it.
The screens in the suites are 24 inches in size, which is the largest Delta has ever done, and they are also bright and sharp, with colors that pop out no matter what you’re viewing, whether it’s a movie, TV show, or video game. If you have headphones, simply plug them in via Bluetooth; there is also wireless charging on a particular stone surface.
The lighting in the suite will gradually shift over the journey, as it is all very considerate and designed to help you settle in. So it’s beautiful and bright during meals, then it fades to a more mellow setting as you travel near to bedtime, and then it gets a little brighter again as you get closer to your destination to help your body adjust to the new time zone. The entire cabin lighting scheme is configured to follow the same pattern.
Now, part of what Delta is about is giving you the freedom to get up and do your own thing, and that’s what they’ve done with the refreshment station; it’s always open, so you don’t have to wait for a certain meal service to have a snack or a drink. You can simply wander over there and assist yourself.
Designers spent months talking to Delta One passengers and SkyMiles members before finalizing the details of the suite, and the one thing that came up repeatedly was the importance of that extra bed length; almost 100% of the people they spoke with said that was the number one reason they chose Delta One. Thompson Aero Seating handled the actual seat construction, while Delta oversaw the entire integration process.
