The original Opel Manta was first launched over 50 years ago with a four-cylinder petrol engine, and now, the automaker has revealed a new model that combines its classic looks with modern technology, Called the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD, its powered by an electric motor that produces 147 hp and 188 lb-ft of, mated to a four-speed gearbox, which can be engaged in fourth gear and then driving automatically.
Its lithium-ion battery has 31 kWh capacity, which is good for around 124-miles when fully charged, with regular charging taking place via a 9.0 kW on-board charger for single-phase and three-phase AC charging. What this translates to is just under four hours to fully charge the Manta battery. Inside, you’ll find an Opel Pure Panel, complete with two integrated, driver-oriented, 12 and 10-inch widescreens that show technical information. Music can be streamed via a Bluetooth box, and is then sent to a Marshall amplifier to really get things rocking.
