Rimac Nevera Takes On Red Bull F1 Car and McMurtry Spierling in the Ultimate Drag Racing Showdown

Most would think that a Red Bull F1 car would most certainly be faster than any production vehicle, but the Rimac Nevera and McMurtry Spierling have other things in mind. More specifically, we’re looking at the Red Bull RB8, which is powered by a Renault RS27-2012 2.4L V8 engine making 750 hp, mated to a 7-speed, hydraulic power shift gearbox.

Now the Rimac Nevera has four electric motors generating a combined 1,914 hp and 1,714 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a mere 1.74-seconds. The sleeper vehicle in this race would most certainly be the McMurtry Spierling, which weighs less than 2,200 pounds and makes at least 1,000 hp. Let’s just say that you want a vehicle with a high top speed when you’re up against the McMurtry, and there’s just one in this group that can hit 258 mph.
