Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Console
Set for release on March 13th is a special edition Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing-themed system, priced at $299.99. The device itself takes design inspiration from the new game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and comes with pastel green / blue Joy-Con controllers that are white on the back, white wrist straps and a white Nintendo Switch dock filled with images of recognizable characters.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. filed a patent for a ‘touch pen attachment, controller system and game system’ on June 4, 2019 with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office), and this filing was just published last week (January 16, 2020). Unlike the recently released stylus, this the new touch pen is considerably shorter, but has the same exact length as a Joy-Con and can be connected to the controller with a slide movement.

Nintendo’s original Joy-Con controllers for the Switch basically consist of two individual devices, and each one contains an analog stick, along with several buttons. You can either use them attached to the main console unit, or wirelessly when detached. If you choose the latter, you can also have two players use separate Joy-Cons as individual controllers. However, a recently uncovered patent filing may hint at some new features.
