Yes, you do need to modify the shifter kart’s front hubs to bolt the skis onto them, while the rear axle needed to be customized to accept the splined shaft used for the tracks. You need a differential if you want to keep the tracks on. Trying to corner with that great a difference in ‘wheel speed’ is sure to make problems. When driving M113s and M114 A1E1s, we used separate “Johnson Bars” to control the speed of each track.
