When you think of tree houses, tiny wooden shacks normally come to mind, but this unique creation by Sigurd Larsen wants to change your perspective about them. The Treetop Hotel Lovtag, located in a small forest by Als Odde, a rural destination in the northern part of Denmark, consists of nine elevated cabins located 20-feet off the ground, built directly on trees. You won’t find cutting edge technology here, but it’s a welcoming sight after a long hike.

Each cabin boasts a kitchenette, toilet, and the most stunning part of all, a sleeping area built around the trunk of an old pine tree. Inside, warm and neutral colors are used to create a cozy atmosphere for soaking in nature, while a staircase leads to a rooftop terrace up in the canopy for stargazing.

A bridge from the cabin lets you quickly and safely make your way to the forest floor where you can explore either on foot or bike. How much will a night here cost you? Well, we’re happy to report that it’s a quite reasonable $294 per night.
