The Turlersee Lake House by Wafai Architecture draws inspiration from both water and the forest, with its most dramatic feature being its curved wall that gradually transforms into a roof. The aim was to create an illusion that the home is organically rising from the water’s surface, like a wave from the ocean, while its concrete facade appears to be a sculpture of sorts.
The organic features continue into the interior, starting with floor-to-ceiling windows, minimalist furniture, and then a curved staircase that flows down like a waterfall. On the outside, there’s a floating pool outside that is perfect for relaxing in on a warm summer day. Can this be built in the city? Possibly not in a place like Manhattan, but we’d imagine it fitting right into Honolulu, Hawaii.
