Joey Ruiter’s 2013 Reboot Buggy just might be the most extreme yet, and it could be yours for the right price. Its design was inspired by the horseless carriages commonly seen on the road in the late 19th century, and most surprising of all, he assembled it in a mere nine months using basic tools.
Power comes from a Chevrolet-sourced 6.3-liter stroker V8 engine making 400 hp, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Other features include a sturdy steel frame, King Shocks coilovers, Ford Explorer-sourced spindles, a Ford Explorer-sourced braking system, 18-inch XD wheels wrapped in 40-inch Yokohama Geolandar mud-terrain tires, aluminum body panels, and a WARN Industries winch. Now THIS is COOL! It’s the one-of-a-kind Reboot Buggy, which you might have seen at SEMA or in the Petersen Automotive Museum – it was built by the same artist who created the Consumer Car that we sold in 2021. The Reboot Buggy was built from scratch, so there’s nothing else like it out there, and it’s certainly one of the wildest-looking cars we’ve ever listed on Cars & Bids,” said Doug DeMuro, Co-Founder of Cars & Bids.
