“It’s a car that looks fast standing still, yet every element serves a functional purpose.” The lightweight carbon-fiber roof, a hallmark of M’s CS models, lowers the center of gravity, and the exclusive 19-inch forged wheels—available in matte gold or black—add a touch of flair. Early images reveal a palette of vibrant colors, with Misano Blue and Frozen Portimao Blue stealing the show, ensuring the M2 CS turns heads whether parked or tearing through a corner.
While BMW has kept full technical details under wraps until the May 28 launch, whispers from the automotive world—amplified by posts on X—suggest the M2 CS is a performance beast. Its 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine is rumored to deliver around 500 horsepower, a significant bump from the standard M2’s 473 hp. This powerplant, paired with a choice of an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, channels torque to the rear wheels to provide plenty of oomph on the street. The car reportedly sheds 30 kilograms compared to the standard M2, thanks to lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum.
“Our goal with the M2 CS was to create a car that feels alive in the driver’s hands,” a BMW M representative noted during the unveiling. “It’s about delivering unfiltered feedback and exhilarating performance.” A stiffer suspension and an 8-millimeter lower ride height enhance handling, while adaptive dampers ensure versatility on both track and road. With a rumored top speed of 305 km/h, the M2 CS is poised to rival sports cars well above its price point.
