The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are set to be revealed this fall (Sept. 13), but various leaks have provided us with a pretty good idea about what the handsets could look like. What stands out most is the notch being replaced with a pill-shaped housing for Face ID and the other sensors, along with a hole punch camera cutout.
Swing out back, and you’ll find a larger camera module, mainly due to the new 48MP main sensor. Color wise, you can expect the standard Graphite, Gold, Silver and then possibly a new Dark Purple color. For those hoping for USB-C, you may be disappointed since production started on the next-generation iPhones before the EU proposed to make USB-C the standard charger for portable devices. One rumor that has not yet been confirmed or denied is an always-on display using a low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) panel to keep the refresh rate at a minimum to conserve battery life, similar to the newer Apple Watches.
