Atari VCS Antstream Arcade
The Atari VCS has been in development for quite some time, and finally, it’s nearing the official release. It’s intended to pay homage to the Atari 2600, and yesterday, the company announced a partnership with the Antstream Arcade retro gaming subscription service. What does this mean? Basically, console owners will have access to the largest collection of Atari games available on-demand, in both original and enhanced edition formats, from the brand’s arcade, home, as well as handheld platforms.

At launch, the app will offer 50 classic titles and additional games will be added on a steady basis. All of the Antstream Arcade titles, currently over 500, are streamed, and there are challenge modes for those seeking something new. There is going to be a 30-day free trial, and if you don’t cancel, it will cost $10 per month or $96 per year for access. The console features a semi-custom AMD processor, Radeon graphics, HDMI / USB ports, an Ethernet port, and an SD card slot. Expect it to hit stores some time during March 2020.
