South Korean digital artist Jeong Hun Lee works under the name 2jh_design and creates detailed computer images of cars that push familiar brands in new directions. His latest proposal carries the name Singularity. It takes Audi’s recent design language and stretches it into a full-size sedan that treats the rear compartment as private territory for a single person.

Lee began with two recent Audi designs, especially the Concept C. It had a rather tall vertical grille and a fresh overall appearance. The Nuvolari exuded a supercar presence. He combined those characteristics into a long, wide sedan rather than a two-seater sports vehicle or grand tourer.

Up front, there is a vertical grille design derived from Audi’s Auto Union heritage that sits proudly. The slim LED headlights are placed above it, and vertically slit air intakes lie directly below the lights. These elements undoubtedly give the automobile a clear family resemblance, even though the rest of the body has grown significantly larger than either the Concept C or the Nuvolari. When the coach-style back doors swing open, the actual story emerges: the body has grown significantly longer and broader, allowing the space behind the front seats to expand enormously. Most sedans now employ that extra space to accommodate a few more persons. This one, however, makes use of all available space to accommodate only one person.

The rear compartment takes center stage in the photos, with a single seat smack dab in the middle of this huge space. The width allows for plenty of space to stretch out and settle down without feeling cramped. Quality materials, attentive lighting, and simple controls all speak to a single passenger. Lee refers to this notion as a “tapered-fit sedan.” Every surface and proportion is designed to preserve the focus on providing room, comfort, and enjoyment to that single individual.

The driver still sits in the front, and the nose and windscreen region maintain classic sedan proportions, so the car looks and feels like an Audi from the outside. When those rear doors close, the real magic happens, as the extra length and width are no longer distributed across many seats. They simply build a personal refuge that speeds down the road.
