Called the ‘Fire Chief’, this is the world’s only jet-powered 1950s-era Seagrave Open Cab Fire Truck, and it could be yours for $70,000 USD. Power comes from a Westinghouse J34 turbojet engine that is capable of generating up to 3,000 pounds of thrust, complete with an afterburner.
When not putting on a show, the fire truck uses a big-block 366 Chevy V8 for everyday driving. This rear-wheel drive truck has a manual transmission, and its current owner charges $15 per ride at exhibitions, with a capacity of 18. It’s claimed that it can earn between $3,500 to $6,000 for each ‘jet show car burn’, and rightfully so, as we imagine the jet engine using up lots of fuel. Interested? You can check it out here.
