Joby Aviation plans to launch their all-electric aircraft for commercial passenger service in Dubai by 2025, as it just signed a definitive agreement with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA). The company also signed an agreement with Skyports, who will design, build and operate four initial vertiport sites across Dubai.
The all-electric aircraft is designed to carry a pilot and four passengers at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour and all of the aircraft will be operated by the company. What does this mean for passengers? Well, a journey from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah should take just 10 minutes compared with 45 minutes by car.
