Mercedes GLC EV Dashboard Display Hyperscreen
Mercedes-Benz has shown off the interior of the electric GLC SUV and the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen is the main event. This massive display spans the entire dashboard and is a bold reimagining of what an infotainment system can be.

Unlike its predecessors, the GLC’s Hyperscreen is a single, uninterrupted display—no stitched-together panels or clever tricks here. At 39.1 inches, it’s the largest single screen Mercedes has ever put in a production car. The high-res display, with 1,000 LEDs for backlighting, produces sharp pictures and brilliant colors that pop even in bright sunlight.

This display’s zone dimming is what sets it apart. Instead of blinding the driver with a wall of light, the tech distributes the brightness across different areas. Critical info like speed and navigation stays visible, while less important bits like the passenger’s media controls fade into the background. It’s a sensible addition that strikes a balance between functionality and the screen’s sheer size.

Mercedes has made room below the Hyperscreen for physical controls. Two wireless phone charging pads are in the upper console, flanked by central air vents for a clean look. Just below, a slim row of physical buttons and a tactile volume dial give you quick access to important tasks. A matching volume dial on the right spoke of the steering wheel lets you adjust the audio without taking your eyes off the road. These little but thoughtful design touches show Mercedes hasn’t compromised usability for flash.

The ambient lighting system ties the cabin together in more ways than one. Beyond setting the mood with customizable colors, the lighting responds to driver inputs. Move the climate control’s digital temperature slider and the vents and surrounding lights will change color to confirm the change. It’s a subtle but effective way to make interactions feel responsive and alive, turning mundane adjustments into fun.

The Hyperscreen isn’t just a pretty face—it’s the brain of the GLC with EQ Technology. It controls everything from navigation to vehicle settings and is connected to the electric powertrain. The GLC 400 4Matic, the first model to launch, has over 320 kW of charging and can add around 162 miles in 10 minutes. The Hyperscreen will probably show real-time charging data, battery status and range estimates so you can stay informed just like the entertainment features.
