Is the new Tesla Model 3 Performance refresh, also known as Highland, faster than its predecessor? CarWow wanted to find out, so they pit Elon Musk’s two EVs against each other in a drag racing showdown.
First up, the refresh has dual electric motors making 454 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a blistering 2.9 seconds. As for the 2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance, it boasts a similar dual electric motor setup, but one that makes 444 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. Newer isn’t always better, but the 4,054-pound Highland model most certainly gives its predecessor a run for its money, literally.
