Think of the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept as an all-electric Formula E car that you can drive on the streets. How so? Well, Nissan did participate in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and translated their experience there to this futuristic vehicle.
No specifications were revealed, but we do know that it boasts an all-electric powertrain, dual motors and a revolutionary all-wheel drive system, all packaged into a pure single seat racing chassis. Will we ever see this vehicle in showrooms? Unfortunately, the answer to that would be probably not, but it will most certainly make an appearance at either a future Formula E race or an auto show in the near future.

We are delighted to present the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept from our Nissan Futures event. At Nissan, we dare to do what others don’t. With this concept we want to showcase the high-performance potential of the Ariya’s powertrain in a motorsports-inspired package that not only hints at the design and styling of the road car that inspired it, but that also demonstrates a new and efficient EV performance language. Acting as a testbed for future technological evolution, this project can help bring excitement from the road to the race track, and also demonstrate Nissan’s expertise in transferring knowledge and technology from the race track to the road,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan senior vice president for global design.
