Lukas Wenzhöfer’s Opel Rocks e-XTREME concept started out as a rendering when it was first unveiled last year, and now, it has become a reality. This electric off-road buggy aims to promote the feeling of freedom to be able to reach any destination, while the increased sportiness promises extra driving fun to show that electro-mobility is more than just a sensible solution.
Aside from its electric powertrain, the entire front fascia of the Opel Rocks e-XTREME has been 3D-printed, complete with an LED lighting on the roof and sleek rear taillights. It’s powered by a single electric motor generating 8hp, connected to a 5.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack that is good for a maximum WLTP range of 47 miles. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.

With the OpelDesignHack we have taken a new path of interaction and communication. Opel has opened the industry’s usually closed doors and – approachably and transparently – allowed the Opel community to take part in the build of a concept car. The result is the Rocks e-XTREME; a unique, very cool version of our Rocks Electric, originating from a design challenge and closely accompanied by ‘Making-of’-insights for all. A very successful cooperation,” said Rebecca Reinermann, Vice President Marketing Opel/Vauxhall.
