Priced at an eye-watering $47,500 USD, the Prodrive Racing Simulator is for auto enthusiasts who want the thrill of a real-life race at home. The core of this racing simulator is a a purpose built gaming system that includes a 12GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card and 16GB of RAM. As for the equipment, you get a SIM steering wheel coupled with a Simcube steering motor for precise driving inputs.
A mechanical pedal box has also been purposely selected to finish off the realistic experience. Interested customers will be invited to Prodrive’s Banbury headquarters, where they’ll get to try the racing simulator first hand in its very own showroom. Since this simulator does involve a lot of assembly work, Prodrive will hand deliver and install it in the customers’ homes.
- Changes from Formula to GT racing positions with ease
- Next Level Racing Hubs allow for quick adjustments and solid durability
- Adjustable wheel, gear shifter and pedal positions and angle
There was a very clear vision for this project – to create something technically stimulating and visually striking. Rather than taking the functional and well-trodden route of a car-like structure, we opted for something more abstract, contemporary and elegant. This design intrigues. You know it’s a simulator, but then you have to look again. The sweeping form and ‘piano black’ gloss finish take the Racing Simulator to a whole new place – it’s a piece of furniture that can elegantly sit in a living space,” said Ian Callum, a British car designer who has worked for Ford, TWR, and Aston Martin.
