Snoop Dogg Luka Doncic Bugatti
Luka Doncic walked out in Los Angeles last week to show off his beautiful new Bugatti W16 Mistral, which looked as sleek as could be in the California sun. The parking area at Crypto.com Arena, where people are usually dropped off at courtside seats, became an impromptu party when Snoop Dogg arrived, drawn to the Bugatti like a moth to a flame.

Snoop showed up with his typical high enthusiasm, running across the lot towards the Bugatti as if he were on fire. He circled the beast with wide-eyed astonishment, his hands waving around like he was leading a rave. Then, to no one in particular, he says, “I left my keys at home, man,” adding an f-bomb for good measure. Snoop had some street cred to spare, and the rapper’s projected net worth of more than $160 million by mid-year did not stop him from getting down to business.

Doncic paid a cool $5 million for the Mistral in late summer, adding it to his already impressive collection, which includes a 1,000 HP Brabus Rocket, a tricked-out 1969 Chevy Camaro, an electric Rimac Nevera from earlier that season, and even an Apocalypse Hellfire truck for when he wants to get dirty. But the Bugatti is the frosting on the cake. Bugatti only produced 99 of these roadsters before retiring the W16 engine, and word is that all 99 slots were filled long before the big presentation in August 2022. Guys like Doncic get one final chance at the engine that very much made the brand what it is today: an 8.0L quad-turbo W16 with 1,578 horsepower under the hood that’ll get you from 0 to 60 in less than three seconds, with a top speed that’ll make you feel ecstatic just thinking about it.

Snoop is no stranger to roaring engines; he owns a number of American classics, including a one-of-a-kind 1966 Pontiac Parisienne painted bright Lakers yellow with a deep, dark purple roof. Doncic gave him a new Lakers tee with Snoop’s name on the back as a small expression of appreciation for the guy’s entertainment value. The rapper put it over his shoulders, still buzzing from the close-up look at the Bugatti’s contours and intakes, those mechanical touches that scream precision without being too flashy.

A deeper look at the Mistral reveals why Doncic fell so deeply in love with it. The mid-mounted engine appears to sit there, delivering power to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual clutch transmission that shifts gears smoother than a point guard changing direction on the court. Carbon fiber frames the body, reducing weight to a sleek 3800 pounds, while huge brakes bring it to a halt from triple digit speeds without breaking a sweat. Its suspension has been tuned for the ideal balance of grand tour comfort and track bite, transforming highways into playgrounds and canyon roads into thrilling experiences. Doncic, whose on-court vision is only equaled by his sense of flair, even showed up wearing a $310,000 Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch with a skeleton dial that mirrors the car’s mechanical elegance.
