To celebrate the Australian Grand Prix this weekend in Melbourne, LEGO teamed up with McLaren to build a life-sized F1 car using 288,315 parts. It took a team of 27 brick artists a total of 1,893-hours to build 18.7-foot long and 7.9-foot wide race car.
The all-new LEGO (10298) Vespa 125 set pays tribute to the iconic Vespa Piaggio and consists of 1,106-piecees. It pays tribute to the original Vespa scooter, complete with its pastel pale blue color, a classic 1960s Italian license plate and the legendary logo.
The LEGO Technic (42141) McLaren Formula 1 Race Car is a must have for any racing fan, as it’s not just a static set. It’s modeled after its real-life counterpart, complete with a V6 cylinder engine that boasts moving pistons, steering that can be activated from the cockpit, as well as a suspension and a differential lock.
Just when you thought LEGO sets couldn’t get an larger, the Titanic, literally, comes along. The 10294 set is comprised of 9,090-pieces and captures the grandeur of the ship, right down to the stunning exterior, along with various interior rooms, including the First-Class grand staircase that spans six decks.
The LEGO Technic Ferrari 488 GTE “AF Corse #51” celebrated a milestone as being the company’s first model to take on the legendary Modena circuit in Italy. This was achieved by installing a brick version of the supercar on a real Ferrari 488 GTE, driven by Giancarlo Fisichella, Ferrari Competizioni GT’s official driver.
