Xiaomi has entered the extended-range electric vehicle segment with the SkyNomad N90, a large three-row SUV that doubles as flexible living space. The model launches under a fresh Sky Nomad sub-brand and gives buyers a boxy, upright shape built on the new Kunlun architecture. Reservations opened in early July with a planned launch by the end of the third quarter.
The N90 Max’s boxy dimensions give it a bland appearance from the exterior, with a front-to-back length of 5285mm and a wheelbase of 3080mm. It measures 1998mm broad and 1825mm tall. When it comes time to camp, a special edition increases the bar. This design tweak gives the cabin more space and allows you to build a flat floor with long seat rails that can be adjusted.

When the car comes to a halt, the front seats rotate 180 degrees. That allows them to swing around and face the folks in the rear, and then you may insert a table. It’s essentially a quick lounge or portable workspace. The chairs in the second row are zero-gravity and have fold-down footrests. Meanwhile, the central armrest glides along rails and expands to become a longer counter or mini bar. Leather furniture is pretty much everywhere, and there are additional features like a fridge, overhead speakers, and split panoramic sunroofs that make everyday life a little more comfortable. A ceiling-mounted screen will swing around to where it needs to be.
The camping model enhances this versatility by including a pop-up roof that elevates the sleeping platform above the main cabin. There are side cabinets and several side-tent sections that will allow you to spend some extra time away from the usual trail. You can even use projection equipment to turn the space into a makeshift outdoor cinema. However, Chinese officials have particular restrictions stating that you cannot use the roof feature on public roads because it is solely for parked vehicles.
The power comes from a dual-motor electric setup mated to a tiny 1.5L turbocharged engine from Harbin Dongan. That little engine produces 112kW, yet it just functions as a generator, never moving the wheels. The electric motors are slightly more powerful, with peak outputs of 210kW and 100kW in the top N90 Max. A 76kWh battery has a pure-electric range of 363 to 370 km under WLTC testing and 400 to 500 kilometres under CLTC cycles. Oh, and the CLTC standard lets you to go 1500 kilometers using a combination of energy and fuel at a top speed of 190 kph.
The loaded Max model weighs approximately 2800kg, and five or seven seats are available to accommodate whatever family size you require. If the N90 is too expensive for you, you can also consider the smaller N70 variations, which are a little more compact and feature a single-motor option for purchasers on a tighter budget. Prices in China start at 200,000 yuan (about 29,400 USD at current rates). That is slightly less expensive than several other well-known competitors in the same EREV class, such as the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9. Xiaomi is still producing cars in big numbers this year, and the N90 is yet another feasible option for families looking for flexibility and, possibly, the occasional camping trip.
