Limited to just a single unit worldwide, Caviar’s AirPods Max “Golden White” just might be the most expensive version yet at $108,000 USD. Why is it so expensive? Well, the luxury retailer covered Apple’s latest wireless headphones in 750g of 18K gold and wrapped the headband in white crocodile leather. For a finishing touch, they added two 18L gold rings with Caviar inscription. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there have been no audio upgrades.
These headphones still feature a custom acoustic design, Apple’s H1 chip, and advanced software to power computational audio for a breakthrough listening experience with Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, as well as spatial audio. What sets these headphones apart from standard AirPods are its ear cups, each of which attaches to the headband through a revolutionary mechanism that balances and distributes pressure, thus enabling them to independently pivot as well as rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head.
