The $1.9-million Bentley Batur’s Light Sculpture is a technology designed to project a ‘light through cut crystal’ effect on the road below, taking digital vehicle personalization to the next level. It’s touted as the first automotive application to use digital light processing to produce ground based animated illumination when entering a car.
There are three colored light sources that reflect through ten lenses and an advanced Digital Micromirror Device (DMDTM) that sculpt the shape of the light to produce the animation. This animated light is then projected via 415,800 microscopic mirrors that are each one fifth the width of a human hair onto the ground below.
