BMW teamed up with Swarovski to develop a crystal headlight for the all-new i7 unlike any other that you’ve seen before. These crystals, which come in two pairs each, are located in the upper spotlight along their entire length. Since these are individually controlled LEDs, it creates a surreal, lively glow, while also forming the daytime running light and the indicator light.
The high beam and low beam secretly nestled in the lower section. This means that during the day, they appear to be small air intakes, thus offsetting the crystals in the upper headlight. These aren’t used to just illuminate the road, as a light show begins as soon as the driver approaches their car, starting from the kidney grille to the crystal headlights right up to a side carpet of light in the shape of overlapping crystals.
- Eye-catching black design, compact at 28 lbs, 220 lbs max load. Age: 16-50. Height: 3.11-6.6".
- High-performance battery: Dual 400W motors, 10 mph max speed, 13.7 miles per charge, 15° slope.
- Illuminating LED lights for visibility.
Up to now, you have only seen homogeneous light strips on the road – the crystal headlights are the complete opposite of that. The dazzling, vibrant light image is a world apart from the familiar accurate light graphic. The precision is in the glass material, though, which can be machined much more finely and precisely than plastic,” said Tom Binder, Head of Exterior Light Design at BMW.
