The Bugatti W16 Mistral recently hit 282mph with Le Mans winner Andy Wallace piloting the hypercar at the Papenburg track in Germany. This officially makes it the world’s fastest open-top production vehicle to date.
Limited to 99-units worldwide, the Bugatti W16 Mistral is powered by a 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine making 1,578 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Pricing started at $5-million, but the entire production run was sold even before the first one was delivered. This particular record-setting vehicle is owned by a wealthy collector from India, who just so happens to also have the entire “The Singh Collection” of record-setting Bugattis.
