Bulletproof Automotive Honda S2000 BP25 SEMA 2025
Honda fans grab a cup of coffee and get comfy. Bulletproof Automotive has just wheeled out a absolute beast at the Toyo Tires Treadpass at SEMA and its a real head-turner, this one is rocking an S2000 badge – and its got a pretty sweet new name, the BP25. Twenty-five years of Bulletproof, on one chassis – and not a single compromise made along the way.

The car arrives looking exactly like the Lamborghini Balloon White color that the Bulletproof crew used on their record-breaking Concept One. You have gold pinstriping flowing from the snout to the tail, like a signature. A Spoon hardtop seals the deal in the cockpit; no folding soft top here. The Varis Dark Panther carbon fibre flares expand the fenders two inches on each side, and the new vents actually feed air to the radiator. And the rear wing? You better believe it’s tall, flat, and bolted straight to the chassis. The carbon-magnesium mirrors are so light that a good gust of wind might practically blow them away – they weigh less than a pair of sunglasses. The taillights, which are bespoke LED rings, emit a really appealing neon halo at dusk.

It has 19″ BP-RW Evolution wheels wrapped in Toyo R888R tires that are 295 millimeters wide, while Brembo Pista calipers are mounted under the spokes, with six pistons in the front and four plus a parking brake caliper in the back, all machined from a single billet. And it’s all held together by Top Secret coilovers with Aragosta internals, which drop the whole thing two inches and then allow you to lift it with the touch of a button for any speed bumps you may meet along the road.

When you open the door, you’re greeted with a fragrance of suede and titanium. The Recaro RS-G buckets embrace you in all the right places. Willans six point harnesses latch in with a simple tug. Above, a Mugen roll bar arcs the above, painted matte black. The suede steering wheel, 350 millimeters across, features an NSX-R horn button in the center. The ARC titanium shift knob merely sits in the palm, feeling cold. The Alcantara covers the dash, doors, and bottom of the hardtop, which are all sewn with red thread. And there in the center of it all is a single gaugeART screen that displays boost, oil temperature, and other important technical information.

Finally, the engine, which you have probably been waiting for. Bulletproof began with a completely stock 2.0 liter block, which they then designed to spin at 10,000 rpm, and they were not kidding. Sleeves, pistons, rods, and valves were designed to endure tension. The Vortech V2-Si supercharger on the right side spins a custom pulley, pulling in a lot of air and putting it into the front-mount intercooler, the Radium fuel rail is supplied by twin 340-liter pumps, and the Injector Dynamics 1700 cc nozzles spray all the E85. And when you turn the key, the Amuse titanium header simply shines cherry red. The exhaust system consists of two 70-millimeter titanium pipes that exit through two gold-ringed tips. The dyno papers aren’t fooling around—580 horsepower at 9,300 rpm, and the redline is a full 700 rpm higher.

A six-speed AP2 transmission, an old-school C short shifter (which I suppose is a nod to the gear lever from the early C cars), a high-performance ACT flywheel, and a six-puck clutch provide power to the rear wheels. A Drexlers limited slip differential with ASM spec was installed to keep the rear wheels glued to the road. The craftsmanship of Drexler limited slip diffs is quite unique; Tracy included a baffled oil pan, ensuring that the pump never runs out of oil even while the engine is running through the long sweepers.

Driving this supercharged automobile makes you realise how light it is. The S2000 has always had an incredibly light feel about it, but this one feels nearly stripped out. For being so light, you can only dream for unassisted, rapid steering that provides you with the feedback you need to drive that car to its limits. At 4,500 rpm, the supercharger whines, and at even higher rpms, the VTEC comes in, and the engine lets out an incredible scream that sounds more like a V8 than a VTEC. Before you know it, you’ve reached 10,000rpm faster than you can say it. The gear shifts with a solid metallic click, so strong that it cracked home. When you slam on the Brembo brakes, you can feel your harness pressing into your collarbones, as if to keep you in place.

Bulletproof created the car and then transported it to the SEMA show floor, where it will remain until later today (November 7th), when it will be transported to its owner, a well-known collector with a garage full of some of the most remarkable Tsukuba legends.
