It’s not everyday that you see a 1966 Datsun 1600 Sports roadster, much less one that had its top chopped off and engine swapped out. On the outside, tuning shop Japanese Classics installed a tiny windshield with rounded upper corners, added sharpened fender flares, a lower front fascia, matte Work Equip wheels featuring a 4-spoke design as well as a polished deep step-lip, and lots of chrome accents.
The car itself has been repainted in a custom green hue mixed in-house at Japanese Classics, while the interior sports red / black Relicate leather throughout, including on the custom seats and custom luggage piece. However, the most impressive piece may be its new Autech SR20DE 2.0-liter engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, generating 197-horsepower. Yes, this is the same engine found in the Nissan Silvia S15.
