EHang announced that it has received a Production Certificate for their EH216-S unmanned aerial vehicle (UAM) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). This marks the world’s first production license in the eVTOL industry, coming after the air taxi obtained the Type Certificate and Standard Airworthiness Certificate.
This eVTOL is powered by a battery and has a maximum payload capacity of 650 kilograms. It can achieve a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour and can travel for up to 25 minutes on a full charge. How much does it cost? Well, around $330,000 USD, which is quite reasonable considering a private helicopter will set you back up to $500,000.
