An electric Mazda MX-5 Miata was possibly teased in the company’s Mid-Term Management Plan, which outlines their policies up to 2030. They set out to implement a three-phase approach through 2030 and will flexibly address electrification, with the first making use of their technology assets to achieve a reduction in our environmental footprint as well as produce attractive products.
The second phase has Mazda introducing a new hybrid system and, in China where electrification is advancing, debut EV-dedicated vehicles as well as launch battery EV vehicles globally. Unfortunately, there is no official confirmation of a next-generation Miata, nor an electric equivalent, but this short teaser does give us some hope.
