Man Drops iPhone 11 Pro Max Into Taiwan’s Sun Moon Lake, Finds it a Year Later in Working Condition

Taiwan may be experiencing its worst drought in 56-years, but for one man, this is a blessing. This person was paddleboarding on the famous Sun Moon Lake during March, 2020, when the iPhone 11 Pro Max that he wore around his neck in a waterproof bag accidentally fell into the body of water after slipping. Since the lake has basically dried up, the man, surnamed Chen, was able to retrieve it, and after removing the phone, everything powered up like new.

A worker contacted Mr. Chen last week to tell him that his iPhone had been found. Sure, the waterproof pouch was covered entirely in mud, but the device inside almost looked brand new, without a scratch or visible damage. He charged it up and discovered that everything was fully functional. On a related note, this dry spell in Taiwan started after zero typhoons made landfall last year, the first time it has happened since 1965.
